Sending customized messages while declining calls: You can also customize the message you send to the person whose call you declined, and to do this, go to Settings, then Phone, and select the Reply With Message option.

Mails

Sending photos via email: When you prepare the draft, just remember to touch and hold anywhere in the body space. The options that appear let you insert video file or an image file in the email.

Sending messages saved in drafts: When using the Mail app, tap and hold the New Message option, and you’ll see the list of your recent drafts.

Monitor important mails from your VIP contacts: Go to an email from the person whom you want to make a VIP, tap on the name to see the contact, tap on the ‘Add to VIP’ setting below the details. Use the same procedure to remove them from the VIP list.

Account specific email signatures: In case you use multiple email accounts on iOS 6, you have the option of using different signatures for each.

Separate notification for different accounts: You can have individual email notifications for different mail accounts, setting different alert sounds and styles for each.

Camera and Images

Sharing your Camera Roll images to somebody not using iOS is simple with iOS 6 by turning Photostream to a public website. You do this by going to Settings, then Photos & Camera, and then share the link with your pals.

Change Panorama direction: When clicking a picture in the panorama view, just tap on the arrow if you wish to change the direction.

Taking images while shooting video: When the video is being recorded, you can tap on the camera button that shows up, in order to click a picture. However, the quality is not the best.

Privacy

Guided Access to limit phone’s functionality: If you are looking for more privacy, iOS 6’s Guided Access feature helps. It limits the number of apps functioning, and until a unique and user set 4 digit pass key is entered, the other functionalities of the phone are left dormant. Go to Settings, find General, then go to Accessibility, and look for Guided Access there. Switch it on, and set the preferred pass code.  Just tap the home button thrice on the app for which you want Guided Access activated, and then tap on the Start button at the top of the screen.

Evade undesirable ads: Using Settings > General > About, then Advertising, and then switching ‘Limit Ad Tracking’ on, you can stop ads from tracking you.

Regulate sharing of data among apps: The Privacy button that the new iOS brings makes things better, and more manageable. Listed under Settings, this feature allows you to see as to which apps share data, and administer changes.

Siri

Get public transit help: You can put Siri to some great use in iOS 6. Just tell Siri, “Get me to [the desired destination] via transit,” and what Siri will do is to feed the input destination to the public transport applications on your phone. Now, use any of those apps, and enjoy being automatically routed through public transportation.

Open apps and check score: Just click and hold the home button, and ask Siri to open apps by saying, “Open Music” et cetera, or telling it to show you the score for your team’s latest match.

More iOS 6 Tips and Tricks

Apart from all the above mentioned hidden features, there are several other handy little tips and tricks that make you fall deeper in love with iOS 6. Among these, the following are worthy of a mention here.

Listening to books for readers is easier. Go to Settings, choose Accessibility, and switch the Speak Selection option on. Now, you’ll note that when you make a text selection, a speak button emerges.

Also, the Notification Centre items in iOS 6 are synced with the iCloud.

If you listen to a lot of music on your iPhone, then you’d appreciate the fact that in iOS 6, you do not have to turn the screen lock off to make use of the volume buttons.

Uploading videos to YouTube is still possible, despite the absence of the official app in iOS 6. Select the video you want to upload and press the Share button.
